Two more people have been arrested in connection with a theft at London's Heathrow Airport where 21 people sustained injuries by a substance believed to be an irritant spray, as stated by police.

A 24-year-old man, was taken into custody in Lambeth for suspected robbery and assault and a woman, 23 was detained for suspected conspiring to commit a robbery. They both remain in custody, authorities confirmed.

These detentions come after a probe into an assault at the multi-storey car park at Terminal 3 on Sunday. Prior to the attack, two women had stolen from them their suitcases upon exiting a parking garage elevator.

A toddler aged three was among the injured during the incident. A total of five individuals went to hospital for medical care and have since been released.

Police detained a man in his thirties on suspicion of robbery and assault close to the scene. He has since been released under investigation while inquiries continue.

Police were called at approximately 08:10 GMT following reports of a number of individuals injured by a noxious substance thought to be an irritant spray.

The assault - which authorities stated was a standalone incident and not considered terrorism - resulted in train delays and the temporary shutdown of the Central Terminal Area tunnel and the T3 parking facility briefly.
