In 2026, the fifth installment is set to arrive. The initial preview for Toy Story 5 landed this week, providing a glimpse into the plot but leaving viewers wondering how it will resolve the conclusion of Toy Story 4.
The Latest Addition: A Frog-Shaped Tablet Spooks the Gang
In the teaser reveals the young girl — who inherited the toy collection when he left for college — getting a brand new toy, one that alarms Woody, Buzz, and the crew. She acquires her first tablet computer, and she is excited about it.
Theoretically, the frog-shaped tablet will animate just like Bonnie's other toys. Still, the toys seem to view it as a threat intending to supplant them, which it probably is.
Woody's Return: Unanswered Questions from Toy Story 4
An element the teaser avoids is what the sheriff is back with his friends in the child's bedroom. The finale of Toy Story 4 saw him embark on a new adventure with Bo Peep (Annie Potts), traveling with a carnival and helping giveaway items locate loving owners.
Surely, the filmmakers will explain the aftermath of Toy Story 4 in the film. Witnessing him show up in Bonnie's room without warning is somewhat puzzling, though. It also raises questions whether Bo Peep will have returned with Woody. And what about Duke Caboom (Keanu Reeves)?

Fortunately, some elements are continuing from the earlier movie. The last thing Woody did before departing for his fresh path was pass his sheriff badge to the cowgirl (the voice actor), leaving her in charge of the toy domain. The clip displays the insignia attached to her outfit.
